Locate Car Paint Color Code
The paint color code of a vehicle can be found on the Compliance / Manufacturer’s / Identification Plate which can be located in various positions of a vehicle depending on manufacturer. The most common location would be on the driver side door jamb. Other places to check are under the hood, inside the glove box, the trunk or on the vehicle's original window sticker.
In the diagram below, you can see the various locations where an ID plate can be placed within a vehicle. Once located, the identification plate will have a section for the paint code referred to as “Paint Code” or “Exterior Color”. If you are unable to locate your paint code, contact your manufacturers local dealership and they can assist you with the paint color code based on your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN #).
